ISUE HOSTS INTER-CAMPUS SCIENCE AND MATH QUALIFIER

De Venecia Hall. Echague campus hosts this year’s Inter-campus Science and Math Quiz as a qualifier to the Philippine Science Consortium (PSC)- National Quiz to be held at Bataan Peninsula State University in December.
The national event for the PSC formerly (Luzon Science Consortium) dubbed as Math- Science Technology Fair and turn- Over ceremony will be held December 3-4, 2009 in Balanga City.

From the original three member- institutions of the Luzon Science Consortium (LSC); CSU, CLSU and ISU; membership already expanded to 28 which includes; NVSU, QSC, NEUST, ASCOT, DMMSU, TSU, BASC, PAC, BulSU, DHVCAT, RMTU, BPSU, BengSU, TCA, ISCAF, BatSU, DOST-R3, ASIST, PSU, BSC, TUP, ISPC, UNP, MMSU, PMMA, MSC, CavSU, URS and OMNC.

The 28 member institutions of the Philippine Science Consortium are entailed to participate in every competition in the national level such as Math- Science Quiz and Research Poster Presentation Contest.
Dr. Edmundo C. Gumpal, Vice President for Research who addresses the participants during the opening program told the participants to use the power of research to alleviate the condition of the less fortunate.
“Competition is more than winning a contest, but winning new friends relationships and ideas”, Gumpal said.
The Biology Quiz started immediately after the opening program.

The delegates from the Echague campus bag the title for the Qualifying quiz in Biology during the 2009 Inter- Campus Science and Math Quiz today.
Though way behind Cabagan Campus during the preliminary rounds, Jan Kenneth Castro and Christopher A. Dela Cruz, both Veterinary Medicine students, pulled off on the average and difficult rounds until they are declared as winners for the Biology quiz.
