“ Maximize your participation by joining in at least three categories”.
This was the reminder posed by the Regional Higher Education Press Advisers Association (RHEPAA) President, Prof. Ma. Theresa R. Remigio during the regional seminar on campus journalism held at Kimikarlai Hotel, Tuguegarao City on August 28-29, 2009.
Remigio presented an assessment of the tertiary campus press, highlighting the problems of Region 2 in press conferences especially during the Luzonwide Press Conference. The Luzonwide Press Conference will be held in February 2010 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
She also stressed the importance of setting directions for the campus press, shared her experiences and gave pointers for the student writers in preparation for the Luzon wide Press Conference.
The president then acknowledged the colleges and universities in the region who participated in the said seminar which inclides the Cagayan State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Quirino State College, University of Perpetual Help- Cauayan CAmpus and the Isabela State University.
The Regional Press Conference is slated December 10-12, 2009 in Tuguegarao City which will screen and qualify participants for the Luzon wide.
