“Transcending the odds through unity and transformational leadership”

Dr. Richard Ramirez, Vice President for Administrative and Finance, also a former student regent himself, inducts the elected Student Supreme Council Federation (SSCF) officers during a simple program held at ISU Ilagan Campus grounds, September 22.

Dr. Ramirez said, “one mark of effective leadership is self discipline, leadership is not just a matter of popularity, what is more important is what you accomplish after your induction and throughout your tenure”. “Leadership does not and must never end after you take your oath of office, Ramirez said.

On the other hand, SSCF president-elect and now Student Regent , Karen Ong Martinez faced with the challenge of introducing programs for the students in the ISU Board reveals her “sss” formula which stands for ”sacrifice, sacrifice, sacrifice”.

Martinez said her programs for the university students will be realized by having a vision for the organization complemented with hard work.

Dr. John Cabansag, University Director of the Office of Student Services(OSS) also challenged the new elected offiers and said that “leaders should not be leaders only by name, but of action.

The out-going SSCF President, Christian Lorenzo, presented his accomplishments such as: computer sets for Echague and Cauayan campuses, an LCD prpjector for Cauayan, a Php 30, 000 nipa hut for San Mateo Campus; a Php30,000 student nook for Angadanan Campus, and allotment of Php30, 000.00 for immediate projects of SSC Jones campus.
